Transport of Plastics in Rivers

Research group: professor Andy Woods

The Problem

Most plastic pollution reaches the ocean through polluted rivers. Catching the plastics while they are still in the river, thus preventing them from reaching the ocean, is difficult.

Work Needed

Research is needed to understand the transport of plastics and microplastics in rivers, and to develop new strategies to capture them.

Our Work

We are currently running laboratory experiments to investigate the transport of plastic particles in rivers.

Current work

We are currently running new laboratory experiments to investigate the transport of plastic particles in rivers. We will provide more details soon.
